    Q 9m and firmware Update

I have been have a serious echo problem where lots of people have complained about it. Went to Verizon and they said there was a update on Morotola site. I download and installed. Got Active Synch working. No Firewall set. When I run the Motorola Update, it never detects the device... I have tried this on 3 machines. Has anyone tried this on the Q9m already?

    Am I missing something?

Try booting the phone directly into the BOOTLOADER mode:
(Hold "A" and "ENTER" while powering on the device)

Then connect the cable and try to update...

I don't have a Q9m, so I don't know what this will do or if it will work, it did for my Original Q though...

I downloaded the update installer program to my PC, intalled it on my PC, connected my Q9M to the USB cable, opened the installer program and waited for it to detect the device and then it just told me my device already has the most up to date software. This is very confusing because I never updated the sofware before and the update says MSU Q9M Standalone Update. This was a big waste of time for me.

It appears you got this update to work did you have to reinstall everything software/hacks/etc?

Would you mind posting the your software version?

    Mine is:
    NL-BP_C_03.20.0EP
    MP_BSP_C_04.08.65-07p_NM_P3.0

You have to put the phone in flash mode.
    1) turn off your phone
    2) press and hold the and enter key
    3) while holding those eys, pull it the usb cable and don't let go of the key
    4) wait like a second

    mine says
    Radio Version NL-BP_C_03.20.28P, Nelson
    Portable P3

Ok I got it now, I'm not sure I would recommend this to anyone right now because I don't see any changes in this update except docs to go is version 3.0. Hopefully we'll get a list sometime, so people can decide if it's worth the effort.

    Hey Thanks again!

I just did the update last week and had similar problems with the computer "seeing" my device even though I was using the same cable and USB port i use to synch, etc. Ultimately, I tried a different cable and viola, it worked like a charm. Would be great to know what was included in the update before hand to know if the hassle is worth it. I have not noticed anything different other than it wiping my phone clean.

I Installed it about a week ago, and I noticed that it was much more responsive, the backlight seems to be smarter, and the Docs-to-Go office 2007 update. Overall, I'm very glad I did it - it seems much faster now (with the speed hacks, this baby flies - hate to see it overclocked!) Oh yeah, not a single crash since the update, and it survives a master reset. Hope this helps.

    My software versions are:
Radio Version NL-BP_C_03.20.29P, Nelson Portable P3
    RIL Version 2.000
    CE OS 5.2.1810 (Build 18325.0.6.3)
Docs To Go Version 3.0011 (385)
Windows Media Player 10 Mobile Version 10.3 Build 18325
