Like an idiot, I didn't do a backup, when I installed the beta mango on my Verizon Wireless HTC trophy. Is there anyway to get my phone flashed back to the official software? If not, does anyone have a backup file that I can use, or any other suggestions?

I found that I actually have the backup file. However, when I run it, I get the error, "Error: The installed version of the tool (4.7.1404) needs to be updated to match the Zune version (4.8.2098). Please install the tool version 4.8.2098." When I go to the Zune settings, phone update, there is no restore option.

Sounds like you need to update Zune to Beta Zune. Here is an article from pocketnow that contains a link to download Zune Beta 4.8.2098

Hmmmm... how can it be asking you to update the previous version if you have installed 4.8? Could it be that you have both 4.7 and 4.8 installed? I would check in control panel to see if you have both. And I suggest uninstalling any Zune software you have, reboot, then install 4.8 again.

When it says, "The installed version of the tool (4.7.1404) needs to be updated", it's not referring to Zune, it's referring to Windows Update Tool.

I don't think that it is refering to Windows Phone Tool. The version (4.7.1404) is the exact version as my current Zune software. I think you were supposed to uninstall Zune before you installed Zune Beta. So I believe you have both installed.

I tried this and after pressing the update button, it tells me the phone is up to date and offers no restore option. thanks for the info, hopefully someone will come up with another option.

I read somewhere that the 7720 RTM is on the web now and will be available soon for those of us in this situation. It's suppose to be loadable without having to go back to NoDo. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What is the 7720? Is that the official Mango?

Yeah, I just downloaded it from XDA Developers and loaded it on my Trophy. There is so much I don't know about it's capabilities but will have a lot of fun learning.

Do you have the european Trophy? or the VZW Trophy? And after we install this one, can we get the regular official updates? Or will we still have to downgrade to NoDO at some point?
