    Palringo

Has anyone played with this yet?:

    http://www.palringo.com

it is an IM client (AIM, ICQ, YAHOO, MSN, Gadu-Gadu, Jabber), A PTT thingie (Push to talk walkie-talkie thingie), and seems to send and recieve pictures.

    oh, and it's free, that's a plus.

I have installed it but I don't know anyone else with a phone capable of running it so i haven't tested all of the features. So far though it works like a charm (when chatting with a bot named sam). I'd like to find out if the mms will work on it. if anyone else installs it let me know what you think.

too bad... that is sometimes one thing i would like to have is Push to Talk, but to make that manageable by software i guess both parties have to "run" the software..

    Push To Talk

How would you do it on a non-PTT phone, though? Even with both people running the software, you'd either basically end up dialing the user (which you can do easily enough now) or you'd have to keep the cellular connection open (probably sucking your minutes and costing lots of money).

I don't know why there isn't more buzz about this on the forums... this is the app everyone was waiting for-

-straight forward... install, enter screen name and password, you're good to go. easy to use, doesnt randomly disconnect...

    absolutely happy with this.

The picture sending function seems to just grab a frame from the camera real quick. Not entireley useful, but still cool.
