I'm glad they didn't even let the protest stand. As far as doping goes he has drug testing either every day or every several days, I think its a little thing called ENVY coming out when they accuse of doping. NBC is interviewing him with Mark Spitz on the phone, both are stand-up class acts.

wow has mark spitz changd (i have only seen him in pictures from the olympics)
    both are really modest guys....

and yea the protest stood for all of 10minutes (if that)

i loved the comment by Costas...if phelps was his own country he would be in 4th place in country gold metals behind the US, China and Germany :p

phelps even volunteered to be in a special drug testing program. I think they might test him more than once a day...
all in an effort to put any suspicion about him to rest, and to help make the testing work better.

Did I miss y'all's talk of how Nastia was *robbed* on her first two scores or have we not all commented on that yet? Discuss amongst yourselves.

I blame my sister who gave me an Olga Korbut book back when I was a kid for the fact that I stayed up to watch the entire Women's individual all around... :)

She was robbed, no doubt about that! :embarassed: I also stayed up. I was glad she ended up winning or I'd be thinking it was fixed. (Well, I still think it was fixed, but at least the ending came out right! :tounge: ) I'll bet they were wanting a Chinese sweep in the gymnastics competitions.

Yeah-- I think both Shawn and Nastia kept their composure to the point where the (biased) judges were like "Well, okay."

I haven't been this excited about an Olympics since I was 14 years old and Mary Lou Retton took the Gold!

Yeah, if I hadn't been so P.O'd by the obvious scoring discrepancies, why I might notta gotten sucked in and watched the whole thing!! LOL

Why is no one but me fuming that the Chinese weren't disqualified for wrong ages? Their own newspapers have had articles about the girls being 13 last year. Doesn't add up! If it were the Americans, there would have been an outcry!!

    No offense, but I'm ranting!!

Oh, I'm with you sister! It is complete and unadulterated B.S.

And a big Congrats to Phelps & Co. Fantastic!

I was sorry Darra Torres didn't get the Individual Gold in her final. She seems like such a class act.
