New ROM

New ROM

Internally at VZW there is a new ROM for the Saga that I loaded up today.
Not too much difference visually.
However......

Google maps works right out of he box (well you have to turn Location ON)
Funny thing is that VZNav doesn't work.
This is a known issue and will most likely be fixed before it is released.

NO! I won't post it, upload it to an FTP, or email it to you.
I like my job way too much for that.

You wait until it is released to the public, or try to find somebody that doesn't value their job as much as I do.

haha frog here we go again natures animals talking again lol. This would be a cool updated rom if they would release it soon i mean my wps virtual gps is fine for now but it would be nice not to have to run that to get my location.

tellin ya...get yourself a 40 dollar puck! don't get me wrong. id like onboard satelite grabbing too but the external is sweet and saves me heartache and turmoil of waiting and waiting.... =)

Oh i already have a bluetooth gps i've had it for a while just hate having to reconnect it all the damn time, thats why im happy i got this wps thing working for now as a work around with less hassle than the bluetooth gps receiver.

Do you work for VZW?

Just kidding... thanks for the update, I was beginning to get a little discouraged until I heard this.

Are you in a position to take suggestions for fixes that should be applied to the new ROM?

No, I am sorry to say I am not.
I just happen to know where on the network they are kept, so I check there regularly.

Without putting your job in jeopardy can you let us in on what else is updated with the new ROM?

There mute button is moved when in a call. It is now the lower left button. Where the mute button was is now a button called "notes"

There is an icon called retry SMS. Run it and it looks like a little database of any failed SMS msgs you tried to send

Of course.... thebest is Google Maps works.. sorta
Still won't find satellites, but it locates me within seconds of starting up.

alerts now play over bluetooth

About the alerts playing over bluetooth mine does that now, i realized it last weekend at the beach, i had the mets game on my calendar and had my bluetooth on and it announced it to me i was like "wtf was that?" lol. it was cool.

I mean like txt msg alerts.

ah thats pretty cool. ne release date update yet?
