My phone has slowed to a crawl...

For some reason, every function on my phone has slowed to a crawl. Is the predictive text (or whatever it's called) the culprit? If so, how do I delete it and start over with a new database?

    Thanks!

Settings> Text Input Settings> Menu. Or search the forums.

    Thanks.

Problem still exists, though. What else might be causing it? I deleted my browser temp files (about 2 mb), but can't think of anything else to do. I haven't installed any new software lately...

Thoughts and comments would be appreciated!

Scott: Everything seems slow. I'll send a text message and the spinning wheel will appear for several seconds...longer than usual. Same for e-mails.

    Thanks!

i meant, did you check your text quantities. if you have a ton of texts it will slow the device down alot.
best to clean them out every so often

I don't seem to have a bunch, but I'll delete what I have and see if that helps. I had one very long thread that I deleted. Maybe that was causing the problems. E-mails are synced to an exchange server, and I think I only have 7 days of e-mails at any given time.

    Thanks for the advice.

yea check the texts, if thats not the culprit and the text input isnt either then its getting harder to find it
a MR might be in order if the phone is un-useable

Scott: I think that long thread was the problem. Much faster now. Thanks for your advice.

dont let your texts get in the 1000's we have a few members that had that problem

test it out for a while and let us know if it still working good for you.

I've been using it for a week now, and it's still much faster than it was. Yep...deleting old text messages was the solution to the problem!

I delete the texts, email and text input settings almost daily just to keep my memory from being overloaded.
