    I'm sure you're right, but everytime I test it, it just seems like I get longer battery life with candlelight versus smartbacklight.

    oh really... never was able to use Candlelight on my Q1, it would disconnect and/or mess with my Bluetooth.

    never noticed a differance with it...with Skyfire now testing is out of the question..
  4. check above your flash by the camera.
    thats where my second sensor is.

    Isn't that sensor only for the camera's exposure settings? Unsure
  6. For my 9m, i need to cover both to get the backlight to come on.

    there is a sensor indeed... might be as cindra says for the camera.

    who volunteers to look in the manual :}
  8. Sure the other's side....at least Hockey will come to defend me :tounge:.

    Seriously my backlight doesn't come on unless both do not detect light.
    Reason I figured this out is I covered my sensor on the front when my backlight wouldn't come on.
    I lowered the backlight on my dashboard (hondas are bright) and then it kicked on.

    i did not say you were wrong (yet).... my backlight responds to me putting a finger over the front sensor, never tried messing with the rear sensor.

    so.. bottom line, jury is still out :}

    I put my fingers over the front, no keyboard light. Over both, same result. Only time keys light up is if the screen is lit, too.

    I looked through the user's guide. Not a word about any sensors. :gasp:
