    Motorola Q9m OPINIONS?

Okay, I'm sure this has been asked a lot, but who cares. I am eligible for an upgrade with Verizon in a few weeks. My friend has the Motorola Q9c and I was playing around with it and it's a pretty cool little phone. I've have read hundreds of reviews and it seems like 1/2 of the people absolutely hate them and then other people have had zero problems and are in love with them. I'm wondering if their phones are messed up because of user induced things or what. I can get the Q9m for $50 as a refurb and you can't really beat that price.

So give me your opinion of the phone and any problems you've had with it. I don't want to get the phone and hate it (I probably won't its AWESOME).

as one of the users that has had very little problems, most of mine have been cause by the user:wink: but like everything else mass produced, there is bound to be a bad egg every now and then

Have you considered the Saga and not a phone that is 2-3 years old and a refurb to boot?:tounge:

The saga requires a data plan, which i wouldnt use, i want a smartphone without email. I know it sounds dumb because thats the sole purpose of one. The Q is also WiFi compatible which i love. And with the Q9c released a while ago on verzon i dont they're gonna get rid of it soon.

S'far as I know, any smartphone is being required to have a data plan.??

Besides....do you want internet browsing and that? That will require data.

I've gone through the checkout process with the Q9m and there is an option to pay per KB, so technically you need a data plan but unless im mistaken i could just block verizons internet and get the WiFi card and connect to the internet with that correct?

thats what i love about it because it's the only phone Verizon offers that can use wifi without the data plan. Whats the cheapest you can find one?

Not so, my friend. Any WiFi VZW capable phone can do just that. In any case WiFi uses NO VZW data. Doesn't matter whether you have a VZW data plan or not. :) -Q

nothing but if you dont have your wifi card in and you use data you will get billed
just call verizon and get a data block

a wifi card will work with or without a data block

OR . . . with your WiFi card in you simply switch off your cell's radio and you're good to go - NO data plan needed. :) -Q

true but then you wont get to use it as a phone and when you turn it back on you have the change of using data off the vzw network
