    MOTO Q9C Pocket MSN

Is there any way that MOTO Q tells me there is a new email on my hotmail account?

My friend told me he has Pocket MSN on his cellphone that does this, but MOTO Q9c doesn't have that installed.

    hotmail on MOTO Q9C

    If I go,

start - messaging - new e-mail account and then setup for hotmail, it asks me to visit http://windowsmobile.com/emailsetup/live where I can check my email, but it doesn't send a notification when there is a new mail.

    Thank you.

Yeah, I'm having this same issue.

I tried setting it up through Outlook, but no luck yet.

The LG Rumor (got that for 2 weeks before the Q came out) had a nice easy e-mail setup that notified you when you got new e-mails that was really handy and VERY fast considering it was not EVDO. I guess I got spoiled by that. Hopefully a solution will come soon.

I think in the Q1 you set up the account by signing into messenger. Is that possible for the Q9c?

Any updates on this issue? Does anyone know hotmail IP? it's POP3 correct? I tried 124.0.0.1 and it's no go.

The fix is Mindows Live. You can dowload the cab file through here.

    http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148808

It will push your hotmail to your phone. If you don't want it to sync your hotmail contacts, then don't select sync messenger. Hope that helps.

I've been using it since I got my Q9c and it works perfect.

I just clicked on it and the cab download popped up for me. Try turning off your popup blocker.

    Can't find the connection

I installed Windows Live from the site linked, but it says no internet connection.

    Is there anyone who succeeded?

I've been using this file for a bout a month now. First on my original Q and now my Q9c. I've never had a no internet connection problem. Check you internet settings.

    internet connection

I receive emails, I can go to the internet, so I think I have no internet connection problem.

Is there any setting that I need to change?

I don't know what to tell you other than you are not an idiot. That is indeed how you set up the program. Dumb question. You can surf the net right? Open up internet explorer and check your connection settings. It's under menu>tools>options>connections Under network, make sure you select the internet. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try.

I tried Windows Live and it was well beyond the old MSN setup and miles beyond going through the Live online site to get hotmail.

Unfortunately, for my Q9C setting it up for "push" worked well all morning, but then twice I got this crazy "white screen of death".. the screen just fades to pure white and doesn't respond to any key presses. I had to pull the battery in order to reset the device. The same thing used to happen on my old Q when I tried to use TCPMP.

Anyone else have this issue? Like I said, when it worked it was excellent for email, notifications were immediate and I really liked the home screen plugin.

I assume this isn't a "sanctioned" product for the Q9C, or I would have found it on the MS website somewhere... sigh, really too bad.
