    More Plan Questions

    Hello All,

I have the EnV2 as of now and want to upgrade to the Q. I have Verizon wireless and am on a family plan. If I was to go to the Q, would I aboslutly HAVE to get a data plan? I only use my phone to send about 200-300 texts a month and not that many minutes at all. Please tell me that I can get the Q without having a data plan. Also, my friend wants to trade phones. He has the Q and I have the EnV like I said. My parents gave me permission as long as I made sure it was working and nothing was wrong with it. It is fine and works as if new. I want to know if I can jsut register my number on his phone and just keep my current plan. Thanks in advance for any answers.

you should be able to get the Q get the pay per KB data plan and then put a data block on the phone so you dont get charged for any data being used

now you SHOULD be able to...it may take a few CSR's to understand that

Thanks Hockey. I myself am from NJ, Monmouth Country to be exact :laugh2:

Just a little confused. What does CSR mean? Also, when do I block the data? After I get it or when I get it? Also, what is the answer on the thing about my friend?
Thanks again for the fast reply.

    I will be starting at Monmouth U in 1 1/2 years dude. Can't wait.

Another bunch of questions, sorry, I am very new to the Q.

    1. Should I get the Qc9? Do they even offer the older models?
    2. How much is a Q without the 2 year plan?
    3. Is the 30.00 a month worth it?

Thanks guys and I freaking love this site and want this phone sooo bad.

you cant buy the older model in the stores...
Q9c might still be in stock but you would have to check

I think I am going with the data plan even though that means - 30 on my paycheck.:frown:

Also, do you guys recommend a SD card for music/etc?

My friend at work did the exact same thing.... here's how it goes down.

First off, you're on a Family Plan... that means that your voice minutes are going to come out of whatever amount your parents get every month (I believe the minimum for a multi-line plan is like 700)

The same goes for your messaging. If your parents are on the Select or Premium family plan, then you will have unlimited text messaging. If your parents just have basic voice service... then you will need to pick a text messaging package or you will be charge per use (and during my misguided youth, I managed to rack up a few hefty bills doing that, so be careful)

You will need to pick the 29.99 unlimited smartphone data package. If they try and sign you up for the 44.99 a month data plan, tell them that they don't know what they're talking about.
