It is, so it should support up to 32GB as those cards are released. I have seen 6GB microSDHC cards advertised (though you would need a miniSD adapter to use that in the Q9c), and I remember reading that 8GB cards had been released, but that may have only been SDHC (as opposed to mini or micro).

The Q9c does take miniSDHC; NOT microSD.

From page 29 of the manual: (can be found here: http://www.hellomotoq.com/forums/sprint-pcs/3745-q9c-manual.html)

"Your device supports the use of an optional miniSD (Secure
Digital) memory card (available separately) to expand the
device's available memory space. You can use cards with up to
    32GB
in memory, depending on market availability."

the 'up to 32GB' indicates that it will indeed take the miniSDHC cards.

i know it will fit, I'm worry about standards compliance though because of this, it just sounds ominous:

Compatible with miniSDHC host devices; not compatible with standard miniSD-enabled devices/readers

I have this card (bought it several weeks ago for a Q9m), and it works fine in my Q9c.

That just means that a standard old card reader won't read/write to the card. You need to have a card reader that is compatible with SDHC. I ended up buying this one:

    http://www.supermediastore.com/supermedia-sdhc-external-card-reader-black.html

$6.99, free ground shipping, and it does the job!

I ordered this card from buy.com for my q9c. Just got the card and it was recognized right away with no problems. Great deal for a 4gb when using google checkout.

But the Q9c also take non-HC miniSD right?

Why we need such big capacity?

Sorry about all the questions, first time PDA user here.

    Thanks

Yes, it should work with regular (non-SDHC) miniSD cards. The Q9m I had before my Q9c came packaged with a non-SDHC microSD card (with miniSD adapter), and it worked just fine. I would presume it would be the same with the Q9c.
