    Questions Answered

What do you love most about your Q?
    Slimness and call quality.

Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones?
Verizon is the only carrier I will use, Windows Mobile 5 is the OS I prefer and Motorolas are the only phones I'll purchase.

If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be?
I gotta have a full numeric keypad separate from the QWERTY function.

If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase?
Probably nothing until Verizon came out with a Motorola Smartphone with Windows Mobile.

Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if....the battery life was FAR better, it offered a WiFi option (with intelligent switching between Wifi & Cellular), the internal speaker was better when on speaker phone, and GPS was a standard feature."

What do I love about my Q

    1. Clarity of the Graphics!!!

    2. I was looking to consolidate my PDA (Dell Axim) and phone.

    3. Battery life and processor speed. More software would be great, too.

    4. The new upcoming Mac Phone looks appealing.

    5. ....If I could multitask more/faster.

Thanks for being a voice for the masses.

If only the battery lasted longer.
The instruction material does not seem very simple to follow.
the start-up takes quite a while to come up.
    Thanks

What if anything did you learn from your mtg with Moto? Will there be a new Q coming out this year for Verizon/Sprint, will we get WM6? I like my Q but I would like something a bit quicker on the response side (I know MS OS are slow) but one can still ask. More memory wouldn't hurt either.

    1. I love how slim, light weight and sleek it its. I also love the qwerty keypad.
    2. It's by Motorola for one which is the only type of phone I have owned other than Nokia. It has the Mobile Windows and reminded me of the Samsung Blackjack.
    3. The applications area, I would make all .wma, mp3, mp4a, and other music files automatically download in sounds instead of my documents, the syncing of contacts or transferrable to the minisd card, and of course the battery life!
    4. If I were with Cingular then the Blackjack but since I am with Alltel then the Treo 700w.
    5. My Q would be great if it did not freeze up at times, didn't have so many little malfunctions (i.e. low battery tone when battery is full for no reason), could pinpoint exactly where things are downloaded.

    1. I love the convenience of "everything at your disposal." Working in the field that I am, being organized is a must.

    2. The cost wasn't outrageous. The slim design was a major selling point for me. Plus the freedom to add and remove programs made it a no brainer to purchase.

    3. Maybe having a touchscreen & stylus

    4. I was leaning towards a Treo 700 (P or WX) but i didn't like how bulky and how heavy it was.

    5. My Q would be great if the battery lasted longer

    response to request

Been in the cell business for 15 yrs,now retired and best phone I ever had... everything is excellent, and full featured. Had 3 treos and all bad with verizon, 700w, not clear and bad recept, screens locking up..so they transferred to Q, for free!!,

would like to see a touch screen, like palm pocket pc style, and most notibly a better battery life. ( use an ext battery and get 2 days.)also would like to be able to send and recieve pics without mms, maybe a carrier issue. Be able to stop that annoying start up sound... wakes up whole house.

If not owned a Q, possibly a blackberry, because of features...

and best of all this web site, YOU are the best, and everyone on here is very helpfull. Im speading the word. Great chicks pics too:)

I currently on a 700p but have been a bit frustrated with some of the known quirks that haven't been fixed yet. Have been contemplating the Q, but am not sold yet. So my answers are on what I've read and seen so far.

What do you love most about your Q?

the fact that it's slender and weighs less than the Treo

Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones?
    haven't yet. on the fence.

If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be?
Improved functionality. Too watered down over PPC's. Don't know why they can't make a full PPC in this kind of form factor or at least in a smaller form factor than current ones. The flip on Cingular doesn't count. And if these are more geared towards emails and messaging (since you can't edit), then why isn't there threaded SMS and improved messaging capabilities? I would think those two functions would be as capable as PPC phones.

If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase?
    Treo 700p obviously.

Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."
If the one thing changed was actually changed. I would miss the touch screen. Improving the thumbwheel to make it more blackberry like would help immensely.

    1) It does everything but change my underwear
    2) Because I've had a BB for years at work, had a Treo, had the ORIGINAL Palm m100 with 8MB of storage. The Q just kicks the living **** out of all the others.
    3) I would make the headphone jack standard size. That's all.
    4) If i didn't own a Q, I'd buy one. Wouldn't go with any other PDA.
    5) My Q would be great if......It could work my day job for me while i sit at home.

HAH, whoops, just realized its past Thursday. Damn shift work.

    1. The size
    2. Verizon oferred and this one sync with my outlook
    3. The lock up problem. I'm on my second Q in 6 weeks and I have to remove the battery several times a day. Not the best thing to do when I'm driving
    4. Not sure to sync with Outlook is important
5 If it did not lock up and had to remove the battery so many times

    Good luck

    Q Feedback

    1. The ability to switch between programs and the net at a quick speed.
    2. The Q was different than the Treo and Blackberry's being offered by my carrier.
    3. The TV Tuner and WMP. I dont know what the deal is with not being able to get TV service like the other Sprint Phones without buying third party software! WMP need some work.
    4. Definitely the Blackjack. My contract with Sprint was up and I was on my way out of the Sprint store to get a Blackjack until the sales rep gave me a deal on my Q. I also replaced another phone with the Treo at the same time.
    5. If it had the TV Tuner/Sprint TV ability already built in!

Since I just got my headphones from Motorola, I have to add the headphone volume too. The volume sucks in the headphone mode! On some songs you can barely hear the music or words. Forget about it if someone talks to you or the dogs bark while walking!
