Meeting with Motorola and need your Q Feedback ***

I've been very asked by Motorola to join them at a Q Summit in New Jersey on Thursday. During the sessions, they hope to get feedback about the Q from myself, the owner of Q users and few other folks in the smartphone community. More importantly, they are looking for input on how to improve the Q.

I'm honored they've asked me to join the Q Summit and I think it's a tremendous step towards improving the Q. That in mind, I'd like to soak up as much feedback here at EQ prior to my trip. So, this is your opportunity to get your feedback heard. Just to provde some structure to this thread, I'll provide some suggestions. No need to answer all the questions, but every bit of feedback will help.

    1. What do you love most about your Q?
    2. Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones?
    3. If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be?
    4. If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase?
    5. Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."
No need to answer all the questions, but every bit of feedback will help. Feel free to add any additional feedback that is outside of these questions.

    1) the slimness of the Q as well as the qwerty keyboard
    2) at the time it was the sexiest smartphone out there
    3) office suite applications
    4) As of now it would be the blackjack or dash
    5) I was able to edit office documents, and able to connect to wifi networks

First off, I think the Q is a great device, I love mine.
    1. I love the fact that I don't ever need to but an Ipod. It's like a phone / Ipod / camera / PDA all in one.

    2. I picked the Q only because it is made by Motorola and I've had very good luck / service with other Motorola products.

    3. If I could change one thing it would be the size of the picture on caller ID. Anybody got a magnifing glass so I can actually see the picture?

    4. The only other smartphone I have looked into is the Samsung Blackjack, but it seems pretty much the same from what I have seen. Its not a Motorola though.

    5. My Q would be great if it could send / recieve picture and video messages. I cannot seem to get anybody to help me figure it out. Any ideas Chris?

I love my Q, I love Motorola, and I love the Q Store. Too bad they only ship UPS, took 8 days for 4 day express service. Go UPS!!!!

1> Small, Lightweight and Feature Rich!

2> Im a "Gadget Man" Loved My Treo, and figured this was the next step.

3> It needs a faster processor. I can be annoyingly sluggish at times.

4> Treo 700p. Once you get used to PALM Software, you never want to do without it.

5> If the "End User" had more control over notifications and sounds, such as the "Start Up" sound, and the sometimes Buggy click-click when your sendiing test msgs or emails.

Thank you for letting me take part in this survey!

    1. Small, compact size, I have EVERTHING I need at the tip of my fingers. Has extremly enhanced my productivity at work

    2. MOTOROLA, need I say more.

    3. One thing? The ability to run true Word, Excel, etc, (able to edit as well, not just view)

    4. This is my first ever Smartphone/PDA. I guess it would have been a Blackberry.

    5. If it came out sooner. Motorola has a winner here, In my eyes.

Let us know how it goes with Moto Chris.

    1. What do you love most about your Q?
      1. The phone quality (clarity of sound)
    2. Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones?
      1. width of keyboard. I could not type with my thumbs on a Treo.
    3. If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be?
      1. Battery
    4. If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase?
      1. Treo 700 P
    5. Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."
      1. My battery lasted longer than 6 hours
      2. I didn't need to purchase an extended battery and it lasted longer than 8 hours.
      3. I did not have to carry a plug with me for fear the battery would die during a meeting.
      4. Excel came loaded to avoid purchasing it as a third party add on.
      5. I could find an extended battery case similar to ones for the stock battery.
        1. oh... if I didnt need the extended battery then I would not worry about this one... (if battery > 6 hrs :), else :( )

    Q Meeting

    1. What do you love most about your Q? Call Quality
    2. Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones? Size, Price and happy with Motorola
    3. If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be? Battery Life, why do we always have to buy an extended battery?
    4. If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase? Not sure
    5. Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."I hate it that when enabling voice recognition, the commands are in speaker mode, not practical when around others or in a subdued environment, also I really think included support for Microsoft office files should be standard.

    1. What do you love most about your Q? The form factor and the ability to modify.
    2. Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones? form factor, Motorola
    3. If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be? Only one . . . battery life. How about two, more attention to shortcuts (not buried in menues) and one hand use.
    4. If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase? e62, Dash
    5. Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."it had just a few additions such as better battery life, MS Office edit, WiFI, GPS"

    Q issue

Please ask if there is any way to include a hard reset without having to remove the battery. All MS software is buggy and windows mobile is no exception. I hate having to remove the Q from the case, remove the battery and replace just to reset. This is actually dangerous when you are in a car for example.

Also as everyone else has noted, the battery life sucks and the processor is too slow.

Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...."

It came with a useful manual. This has been a big problem for this former blackberry user.

How do you group delete? how do you empty your delete folder? why is cutting and pasting such a nightmare? I liked being able to highlight with the trackwheel. This trackwheel is useless. Is there a way merge your Goodlink contacts with your Q contacts? And the list goes on.

    1. Eliminates carrying around too many devices (phone, pda, mp3 player, videos, etc.)

    2. Chose the Q because of it's size.

    3. One thing, no? Many things, yes...battery life, sluggishness, ability to have control over Q's basic settings like sounds, backlight brightness, etc.

    4. Blackberry Pearl

    5. ...would be great if it had Office suite apps, and everything mentioned in #3.

It came with a more comprehensive user manual and lots of flexiblity about which Desktop organizer I use for addresses, calendar, etc. Also, some kind of memo or note pad like Palm OS has standard.

Why did you choose the Q over other smartphones? size, cost, OS
If you could change one thing about your Q, what would be? A better calendar/task PIM program (this is really a Microsoft issue)
If you didn't own a Q, which smartphone would you purchase? treo
Complete this statement, "My Q would be great if...." It didnt cost so much to browse the internet (I know this is really a Verizon issue but the dataplan is so expensive that it makes this phone very expensive to own).
