    Making ringtones/Wallpaper ! ! !

    hey i use audacity to make my ringtones. Then i just send them to my phone through (my number)@vzwpix. Once its on my fone i save it as a ringtone. But for the Nap i couldnt do that, whats the best way to do this. Also for wallpapers as well.

    use your PC and transfer with active sync or WMDC depending on your operating system

    just got the Nap. Im not going to be using any interent features on it except maybe the occasional wifi when im in a hot spot. It turns out it has H/W 3.1. Should i be seeing any probs if im just texting/calling, and making my own ringtones and wallpaper?

    i cant speak for the hardware version (check out the hardware version thread in this forum)

    the H/W should have no affect on whether you can use ringtones or wallpaper
    although if the phone wont answer calls i suppose the ringtones are useless

    any how read the hardware version thread

    For myself I just BT them to the phone to make life simple. Or us Activesync to move them to the phone once you have made the ones you want. Once one the phone you can move them to whatever location you would like them to be kept in.

    wallpaper = \application data\home
    ringtones depends...if you have an SD card put them in the root directory or \windows or \my documents\my ringtones

    yea first i put the ringtones in my documents/ringtones, and that worked it let me select them for my call ringer but not text ringer. then i put them in application data/sounds and that let me choose them for texts but its really low volume, anyone know how to raise it?

    nvm figured it out, thanks.

    did you try holding in the center button on the right hand side of the device between the up and down buttons?
    that will enable the system volume and then hit up to turn up the volume

    yea i got the text ringer to get louder, but now it plays to long. its like a 26 second ringtone of a song, it'll play when i get the text, but then when i go down n click it n read it, it still plays. even still plays if i hit reply n start typing quick enough. how can i set it to stop playing when i click the text.

    That is just silly IMO. Altho I know if frustrated people when flashing dumbphones to another carrier firmware as whatever ringtone you had set for a contact it woulld play that ring for all msgs which was a pain becsaue you never knew if they were calling or sending a msg.

    Curiosu is there a specifc way to jus tincrease the volume of alerts versus ringers? Or is it jus teasier to make the alert louder if you make them.
