    Low Memory Alert

I keep getting the low memory alert on my phone when I boot it up.

What is the max amount of internal memory you can use up to avoid getting that message?

I have cleaned it up. I have an 8 GB memory card in my phone as well. But I keep essential programs on the internal card memory since my memory card has a habit of erasing itself. So I keep my GPS Nav and Documents To Go saved to the phone's internal memory in case I need to use those on the go, but the memory card has failed me. Any additional games and things like SprintTV are all on the memory card.

It says Device Storage: 51.82 MB, Used: 44.02 MB, Free: 7.80 MB

When I view Large Files, the largest is only TeleNav.exe at 1.5 MB

I have my ie cache and emails going to the memory card.

Texts go to the phone because I dont know the registry hack to get those onto the memory card, but even after clearing the texts I get the error message.

All My Documents type things and pictures are on the memory card as well.

that is kinda low. still should be enough. I would still move those apps to the card and keep the cab files safe someplace. the worst that would happen is you would have to reinstall them. Why do you use such a large card if you dont use it? you run into problems over 4gbs.

Who says I don't use it for other things? There are just a handful of applications I prefer to keep on the internal memory because the chances of them failing are less.

And I don't really care if my internal memory is low or not - I'd just like to make the alert message go away by clearing the minimum needed amount, or by hacking the registry to disable that alert if possible.

Do you use SKTools. I looked through the settings. I thought there was something in there to adjust it. I may be wrong.

I'm pretty sure it alerts you when you have less than 10MB of free space left.

i'm having a similar issue BUT worse

    hi all,

perhaps someone can help me? I've been reading posts and i cannot believe how helpful and knowledgeable people are.

Anyhow, Yes i have this phone and not only am i am getting the same message as the original poster but i get this:
There is not enough storage space for the device to operate properly. Immediately remove unnecessary applications, files or messages.

    I have 61kb free!

I deleted EVERYTHING I could off the phone...i have no pictures, no text messages, only contacts...I have no files greater than 100kb ... I went into the file manager and went into every folder deleting everything..of course, certain things are protected and I cannot delete.

I feel like things are getting cached somehow, or being put into a recycle bin and although I cannot find them they are still there. The only thing I have left is to delete some contacts...so I delete 1, then a second one...and then I cannot delete a third...and I get the message I pasted above and my free space keeps going down....

my problem is that i do not know where else to look in order to delete thing :(

    can someone help?

    thank you in advance,
    carina

    i think so...unless it's a hidden directory
    \Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files
    those are deleted
but is there another similar folder elsewhere?

Did you do it in IE? It should tell you how much is in there. Open IE and hit Menu/Tools/Options/Memory. I was surprised at how much I had.

    Also, welcome!

No probs. If you don't have it already, I'd check out SK Tools Lite. It's a nice little app that helps you maintain a clean phone.
