    Of course, the most obvious question is, why?

    maybe the obvious answer is she got kids who snatch the phone and start attempting to break the sms message world record :}

    Thanks but still doesn't lock my messages...It makes it own text message folder and locks that only, not the original one...

    The reason I asked was that I would think you'd want to prevent someone from seeing anything on your phone, not just your text messages, and THAT can be accomplished quite easily by setting a password in Start\Settings\Security\Device Lock. Now, you SMS is locked, along with your address book, email, and all those other things you don't want people to pry into!

    Sadly though, as has been previously pointed out, the Q does lack application level locks.

    so put the texts that you dont want people to read in those folders
    thats probably the best your going to get

    well that locks the entire device not the app so its really not the samething
    granted there are no real app locks but atleast the other way would allow her to lock the messages with password and still use the device

    Hmm, $27 or lock the entire phone, sounds like a "no brainer" to me!

    true
    but it does alot of other things...but it all depends on how you are going to use it
    if you can utilize the other portions as well then its worth it but if not then well maybe you dont need to spend 27 bucks on it

    I think I have what you're lookin' for...

    I think I have what you're lookin' for... RJV SECURE INBOX

    I use this app and it works like a charm.... It locks your Email, MMS, and SMS, but leaves the rest of your phone open for usage. When you select these options from your homescreen or start menu a password box will appear requiring you to input a password before continuing to messaging or email.

    And.... Its free.:2cool:

    ***Just make sure to go to task manager and "kill" text messages after you are through texting or checking email, or secure inbox will not be activated.***
