    im currently with telus mobility, and i have the verizon mobile im. it wont sign in. is this cause its strictly to verizon? i doubt it but who knows. has anyone oneelse tried it with a different carrier???

    been using Palringo for months, my only complaint is te random disconnect and re connects, especially when idle, bu even when ur not idle...drives folks crazy lol.

    pretty sure its because verizons mobile IM goes through verizon thats why it only uses texts not data, correct me if im wrong

    any non-carrier specific IM app will work

    i'm currently using live messenger for my phone but i don't like the fact that it uses full data.

    im on the hunt for an sms im client that will work with telus.

    so far i've had no luck with oz messenger and verizons mobile im (obvioulsy) lol

    cant blame me for trying tho~

    nope i cant
    but i believe those are the only 2 IM apps that use sms and they are carrier specific

    Still do not understand why other apps arent worth trying. Solutions is to try another app like what has been recommended :)

    Why something carrier specific?

    AIM just put out a beta version. there is a post started. it works OK. i'm looking for one that doesn't drain the battery.

    anything that is always running in the background is going to drain your battery
