    Keyboard lock?

Everytime I put my Q in my case a button activates, is there a way to lock the keyboard?

    Yes there is.....
All you need to do is while the phone is on the home screen
hold down the home button (the one that looks like the house)
for a few seconds and a menu screen will pop up scroll down to the third choice and select.

There you just locked your keypad

Another option is to hit 'home' then the 'space' and the keyboard is locked.

    ....Keypad Lock

Even with the "Keypad Lock" on, the device still recognizes that a button was pushed, and the backlight still comes on for a few seconds and then turns off again. Those few seconds of power usage probably won't affect battery life in a few instances, but if the phone is in your pocket and your running, walking, etc and the screen keeps going on and off will this drain the battery or effect the phone in any other way? When I locked out the Keypad on my Axim and my MC50 "PPC" not even a screen tap would turn it on...

the soft keys are the one's that are dots. Above them are thew sdesignation for them. The designations are fluid, therefore the 'soft' name.

In this case, press the left dot, followed by the * key

I've been reading around this site for the past week since I got my q. The key lock has been on of the biggest gripes I had with this phone, and now it's solved!!

Thanks guys, this is really really simple, and I love my phone so much more because of it.

Does that mean I'm easily amused?

To me though, bumping a useful thread that contains a question/answer that is very common for new users is probably ok. I'll admit that I didn't look at the date however ;)

You can also set a password lock that locks down the phone after a specific time. Look in settings. This is good if you lose your phone and have info you don't want people to get at.
