    It's time to share, cough them up!

    OK, I want to know what's on your Q and what you are watching?

    Here's the idea, I've recorded a whole bunch of stuff that I watch at varying times. Sometimes it's on th- Alicia Keyse plane, or delayed at an airport or just waiting in the car for my wife to finish up a task at the store.

    For instance, I have on my Q right now:
    • Motorcycle Mania 3 - Jesse James 1 1/2 hours in HD from the Discovery Channel. (I watch this on the plane)
    • Several live performances from TV shows (watch these when I haave 5 minutes to kill):
      • Alicia Keys EXAMPLE
      • Cold War Kids
      • Good Charlotte
      • Red Hot Chili Peppers
    • 1 hour shows from the NFL Network (to watch anytime, even in short doses)
      • Top Ten Feuds
      • Top Ten Opening Days
    So here's my suggestion, why don't we all share our stuff? I would love to have a library resource of things to download and watch rather than doing it all myself.

    Does anybody know of a website that I could upload a few videos to share with you all and maybe get some videos back in return?

    Just an idea!

    I've got tons of crap on my 6800. From porn to music to movies. Right now I have "American Gangsta" on my memory card. How would we go about sharing stuff? Would we need some type of way to download this stuff? Maybe we need to talk to Chris.

    and even if you could wouldnt that be like a 'legal' issue?
    kind of like downloading mp3's and not paying? wouldnt sharing movies and tv shows fall in to the same category?

    I could see a recorded sporting event (because of the disclaimers) being a problem, but swapping (for no profit) an over-the-air program I don't believe is a problem.

    Especially when it's a TV show with commercials.

    Because the music moguls got together and sued the website owners for flagrantly "taunting" the copyright law.

    For the most part, you had to buy music to listen to it but people thought they could outsmart the bigwigs.

    Tivo allows you to record and watch TV anytime, what service allows you to do that for music? Recording TV shows has been done for a long time without any challenge except for MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL. That coould be changing, that's why the writers are on strike as we speak, royalties.

    But I don't believe a few people exchanging media on this message board is going to be a problem, unless one of you wants to chip in and start a website for Q users to exchange Movies.

    We could call it Mapster? :laugh2:

    HAHAH. You got me beat. But I can alos add my wife's 250GB and 160GB harddrives I gave here that are full. (2) 100GB Desktops, and (2) 100GB laptops that are full into to this as well. Figures we are both Pirates. We have the same name. :tounge:

    BTW: you can record TV shows with no problems. Like one of the posters said, you have Tivo , Comcast DVR and Windows Media Center computers all doing the samething. To bad we dont have and lawyers on this site. I know we can pass personal stuff back and forth, but music could be a problem.

    What about an FTP site that only us members could see?

    an ftp would work well.... if there is the willingness to share 1. the bandwidth or 2. the data transfer. for both reasons i don't think i will "sacrifice" my ftp :}

    and the free ones out there probably will not work either due to the above limitations, or they might for a while :}
