I need help getting the biometric scanner to work...

My biometric scanner on my Nap does not work. I got the phone to activate without any hassle which is cool but I'd love if the fingerprint scanner worked as well. The scanner isn't responsive at all (scroll wheel, backlight). It's a h/w 3.2 and a f/w 1.31.
I've tried scanning my prints in both directions (I read some were placed on backwards) and I've tried using the windows dynamic home screen as well. Could someone please help me out?

    Thanks,
    Gl

this is going to sound really silly but I'm assuming you took off the blue plastic covering that is normally on them when they ship. My buddy called me on the one I got him asking the same thing when I asked he had not taken it off.

Yeah, I took it off right when I got it. I've had it for about 2 weeks now- an upgrade from my Q. I love it but i'm trying to get the scanner to work so my gf stays out of my biz :2cool:

Have you set an "unlock Number Code" yet....You say you can't use it as a "scroll" bar?

Did you know that if someone tries to get into your Nap more that 10 times it will wipe the memory....Read that somewhere!

I set up an unlock code. By "scroll" I mean the ability to utilize the scanner to quickly navigate through large webpages that do not fit to screen very well. The sensor isn't responsive to touch at all which leads me to believe it may be broken.

haha yeah, i've read that in another thread on this forum...good for feds with top secret information (which is backed up), bad for cool kids with insecure girlfriends who enjoy playing detective

At first I had trouble getting the scanner set up to unlock, but it would "scroll". Yours may have issues.

I'm new to playing around with phones but I pick things up pretty fast- Could reflashing the f/w fix this or is the consensus that the scanner itself is probably broken and would need to be replaced? Anyone have a spare scanner they are willing to sell me?? Unsure
