I saw it earlier on twitter, Brandon tweeted. Hoping for the update on 1 Sep.

Bummer. I wonder how long it will actually take to get the update out to us though? If the code is RTM, then that should mean it has passed carrier testing. All they have left to do is package the update for existing handsets. Easy, right? :p

I think RTM means that they can distribute to manufacturers. Then in turn they can distribute to carriers, which still has to do their own testing. Damn it to heck! I'm on ATT who is slow as hell when it comes to pushing updates out to any phone!

    Hi All,

Do you know how I would receive the update as I have sim free HTC 7 pro?

Will it just appear as an update in Zune?

    Cheers

    Gaz

Once the update has been made available, and the carriers start to roll it out, you will get a notification on your phone that there is an update available. It will also appear in Zune as well. Plus, I think MS has to update Zune for the WP7 update. Everyone that is running the beta of Mango is also running a beta of Zune.

LOL. If it is September ATT should have it ready for new years. You should flash to rogers rom.

This will be a good test to see how the update rolls out with the carriers.

So does this mean that those of us on RTM won't have to worry about going back to NoDo? Will this 4.8 update our phones to official Mango when delivered by our carriers?

The one change that bothers me about this Zune 4.8 is under settings/phone/pictures & video settings, there used to be an option to NOT import pictures and videos to computer. I already have them up in Skydrive. I don't need them taking up space in my hd.

It is a positive sign that Microsoft has released Zune 4.8. I think they will definitely release the final version in the second week of September

I wonder if carriers will approve it though?
