How to place Moto Q in Bootloader Mode-?

Haha, seems funny I want to be in bootloader mode considering all of the topics on how to get out of it... :)

The ole Q will not boot up fully and I am planning on flashing it so do I hold * and # and them power it on to get there? I have tried this with no success, keypad is possibly on the fritz too...

Let me know if I am correct.

    Thx

    T-

Are you trying to Master Reset? If so, turn phone OFF. Push and hold in the center of the directional pad. While holding this down, power phone ON. Follow directions to Master Reset. (You will lose everything on the phone...)

    Thanks!!! for the USELESS post!!!

I DID search for bootloader, and it comes up with 5 PAGES of results, I've been going thru them for 2 HOURS!!!!!!

These results all talk about the phone going into bootloader by it'self NOT HOW TO DO IT INTENTIONALY!

I'm on a number of forumns, and they all have the useless members, that don't know how to answer questions themselve - they just constantly scream 'USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!!'

    A-holes!

Even though you consider me an a$$hole, I found this:
    http://www.modmymoto.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1685771

Force bootloader mode on a Q like this:

While the phone is off (cycle battery)
Press and hold A and the Enter key
With the other hand, hold the power button while those other two buttons are pressed.
It will force the phone into bootloader mode

    Open RSD Lite 4.1
Hook up your Q in bootloader mode
Drivers will begin to install themselves (5 of them)
Wait for RSD Lite to detect your phone
    Select the file to flash
    FLASH IT!!!!

    How to Hard-Reset a Q:

While phone is OFF (Cycle Battery)

Hold Center button, then hold RED Power button
    Release Power Button
    Proceed with Hard Reset

    NOTE:
Some Q's don't have a Hard-Reset feature and was not implemented until newer firmware was released for the Q

Not you! The person who posted after you!

And after searching for hours in this forum, I was able to find the answer - you need to hold the '*' and '#' keys during startup

As long as you got it figured out...I'm too scared to do anything that may mess up my phone! Good luck, and welcome to our family!
