    Edit the following registry key:
    To unlock:
    Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies:
Change the DWORD named "1001" to 1
Change the DWORD named "1005" to 40

I un locked my Q on the telus network with no issues using this method found at this site. http://robertpeloschek.blogspot.com/2006/03/howto-application-unlock-your-windows.html

To check to see if it was unlocked I used smart tweaker which failed to install before i did the unlock now it worked.

here's s dumb question from a tech idiot...

where do i find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security.... on my moto Q?
i'm trying to load smartweaker on to my Q, but it's locked.

i looked at some of the other links, and those look painful as well.

i'm just looking for the easiest way possible to unlock the Q so i can get smarttweaker on.

    can someone please help me!?!?!

    thanks!

Is smart tweaker a reg edit program. If so I think that is the type of prgram you need to unlock it. You can find HKEY_LOCAL_etc.etc.etc with a reg edit program. Or try this thread: http://www.everythingq.com/forum/software/smart-tweaker-application-locked-1331.html

How do lock my phone back up?

Does anyone have the original registry values for a April 2007 Sprint Q?

I unlocked my phone to install smart tweaker and now I want to lock it back up. I forgot to backup my registry. These are the new value changes I made:

    00001001 value = 1
    00001005 value = 40

I need the original values. Plus, how do you undo SDA_ApplicationUnlock? If possible, I want avoid a master reset.

Please help. I enabled Smart Tweaker's Application Lock but I didn't see any changes to the registry values.

    Original Registry Values:

    00001001 value = 2
    00001005 value = 16

I know this because I'm in the process of changing my registry in order to add smartweaker...but it won't let me. I'm getting an 'Access Denied' message when I try to change the registry values with Mobile Registry Editor. I got the Q last week and have the MOL3 update installed.

    Help!

When you mean App Unlock, do you mean that when you try to move files or alter the files name, it says that its a "read only" or something along the lines of security issues about editing something on your phone?

example: I was trying to organize my start menu. When I tried to move some shortcuts, it wouldn't allow me to because either it was a read only file or the phone was locked.

If this is a similar situation you are encountering, you wouldn't be able to even hack the registry yet. I'm at work right now but when I go home, I'll link you to a thread that has some program that disables the lock feature so you can edit the registry and move files around as you please.

    Someone Help Me!

I have a Sprint Motorola Q and does not allow any of the popular registry programs to be used. This includes the ones that were listed as being "windows 5.0 trusted" I purchased my Q in August of 2007. Any ideas!
