How do I find HKEY

    How do I find HKEY

    ive been trying to hack into my Q for a while now and ive got the PHM software installed into it but i cant figure out how to find the HKEYs to do it. If anyone could help me out with this id appreciate it.

    You need a registry editor (like Resco) to access that. It's not a folder or file.

    isnt PHM a registry editor also?

    yes it is... HKEY's are the 4 "main" registry groups so to speak;
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    • HKEY_USERS

    thanks for chiming in. i was just talkin out my ass from stuff i found through the search function of the board. i have no freakin clue about registry editing. lol

    Ok, but how do i access these keys in order to change settings?

    your registry editor should show those 4 groups when it starts, if not keep going "up" (as you would in a directory/folder structure) till you see them, from there on you casn go "down" where you need to be. it's been a while since i used PHM (i switched to Resco since it came with their file manager i use) but in there should also be a search function you can use to find a key..

    ok here's another dumb question.. if the registry editor isnt a file or an icon so to speak. how do i open it up to find these hkeys?
