Yes, that is how I have mine set up and it works on my Q.

When you open Messaging and it lists your accounts,
    Text Messages
    Outlook
    MMS
    POP3.charter.net

Is the above list what you see?
My email account displays as the name of the account not as a POP3 address. That's just the way I have mine set up.

    Worked great! Thanks.

The actual issue is that the .XML file and the Home Screen Image have to be in the same directory.

    Great idea!

    Gadget,

That is correct. My outlook actually says Outlook Email though. Is there any chance you can send me your home screen xml file? I tried using the code you have provided without any luck.

    Thanks

You seem to be very good with the .xml files, I on the other hand am just starting to play with this stuff like many others. I was wondering if you know of or can tell me how to modify a two page home screen like the xp mobile one that I am currently using, but with the added features of the calendar and task tabs when the second screen appears. I am not currently using facade, but wondered if I still had the option to use existing calendar and tasks? Appreciate any help you can provide.

    Thanks!!

I don't know of any other way than using a 3rd party app, as far as I know Facade seems to be the most popular one out there. I personally don't use it but I have in the past.

I use Papyrus (from the same company) it doesn't display on the homescreen but when you install it gives you the option of launching it instead of the Calendar or Tasks program on the phone. So if I highlight the appointments on my home screen and press the action key it launches Papyrus instead of Calendar.
I really like the way it is laid out.

    Calender Items

    Hey, Gadget

I am using your XP Mobile theme and it is awesome. You have done a great job with this. I was wondering if it is possible to have the full day appointments listed on the home page?? at present, i only get the first appointment of the day.

    Your help is greatly appreciatted

Gadget is correct (of course he is. If it wasn't for Gadget and Jasperkins, I would know nothing about home screens and xml). There is no way to see tasks on the home screen without a 3rd party plugin. Oxious has a free tasks plugin, but I found the added benefits of Facade (launcher bar, tabbed areas for appts, tasks and shortcuts, and viewing tasks) to be well worth to registration fee.

Facade is for home screens and will use default calendar and tasks. Papyrus is a replacement for calendar and tasks that adds more Outlook fields and added functionality.

Thanks Gadget and SDMahan. I appreciate the fast response. I guess I will just have to pony up and give Papyrus and Facade a try. But......Once I have them is the option for the tabbed launcher bar in their program or is that something that needs to be modified in the xml file?

Facade will create launcher and tabbed bars by itself, but I don't think it will combine them. You would have to do that by editing the XML. Download the Facade XML manual. It is actually quite good at explaining tabs. Print out the XML my 4th Home Screen and compare the Facade stuff to the manual. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them publically on this thread so that others can take advantage of it.

You need to unzip the file in order to do anything with it.
Do you use activesync to connect to a computor? If so I would download the file to your PC, unzip it and then copy the files from the zip file to you Q.

The files need to be in the folder
    /Application Data/Home
on your Q and then the Home Screen will be available from your settings.

Not at all, from home connect your Q to your PC using activesync and click on "Explore" and open
    My Windows Mobile-based Device/Application Data/Home

Place the 2 files from the zip file in there, you can drag and drop them or copy and paste whichever is easiest for you.

Then when you go into Settings - Home Screen the new Home Screen should be there.

I tried this on the Mac homescreen, but it pushes all the text to the left over the icon and makes it white... How do i use it with that homescreen?

Yes, unfortunately for some reason that plugin doesn't seem to recognize the x= or y= tags for placement. I tried every way I can but cant get anything but left aligned.

If anyone else has any ideas jump in and share.

Hey all, I just downloaded a homescreen from KOOLdezine and saw on another forum a different version of the homescreen that included facade and had some other features, I have both .xml files on my desktop but I can only get the original .xml to work on my phone any ideas?

Also, is there a way to change the color of the start/contacts bar on it...its gray and i want it to be black...

This is the screen I'm using
    [IMG]

This is what I'm trying to get mine to be like, but instead of hte Home Service can I edit to make the program files like the original one?

Here is the link to the XML for the screen with facade: XP Mobile Clear

    Thanks for the help

    In the line that reads
    <unreadMsgs name="Pop3 Account" />

Change "Pop3 Account" to the name of your Pop3 account exactly as it shows when you open your Messaging app. Upper and Lower case.

Then you should delete the next Plugin -
    <!--standard others plugin-->
    entirely

I tried this and copied it back to my phone... Now it doesn't show up when I search for the themes. Not sure what I'm doing wrong?

    Help on gadget's themes

Hey gadget, I was trying to figure out how to change the Email count from the one that syncs with outlook to a pop3 account I have setup. What do I need to change? Also, what shows up in between Profile and the Message count?? Anway to do the button/link that will send you directly to voicemail or maybe add in Fizz Weather? Your home screens are AWESOME!!! I'm going to try and get a donation made this coming Friday when I get paid. Keep up the good work!!!!

    Jason
