    help- hack newbie question

I was going to try with something simple....
and I found this on the hack site

This hack will sort the Start Menu on your phone

    1. Start up your Registry Editor.

    2. Find the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell\StartMe nu

    3. Open the item called Order

    4. Currently, it probably has entries for the first 15 items in your start menu.

I don't understand where I change this. Where is the registry editor? on my computer or on my phone?

Sorry I'm asking dumb questions, but I don't know where to start. I'm no computer dummy. I'm a chemical engineer with a lot of programming experience, just not on phones

    Thanks in advance!

    its a program
you install it like any other application

    download .cab file
move to Q DONT UNZIP IT
go to Q's file manager and click on the cab to install

Hey, there, Jen; no problem. Think of your Q as a mini-PC albeit somewhat limited in its abilities. You will need a registry editor installed on your Q and then you will be able to use it for many of the hacks you'll find here and other places. If you aren't particularly comfortable with that another option would be to install a program on your phone called "Smart Tweaker" that will do a boat load of the tweaks for you. Hope this helps you some . . .

    Man, maybe I am slow. I tried this- http://www.phm.lu/downloads/download.aspx?{940B734A-C437-41C7-ADED-2A4418802FD3}
I transfered it to my phone and then it tells me
"There is no application associated with "PHMRegEdit". Run the application first and then open this file inside the application."

I think I'll be okay once I get started. I think the official hack forum is good, but it really is for people that have done this before. They need a hacking for dummies intro!
