In your other post, you stated that you have the "original" Q. This would be the one running WM5. If that is correct, and you installed the TCPMP that is listed in the post above yours, it is the wrong info.

Are you running WM5 or WM 6 or WM 6.1? Do you have a data plan? Let me know, and I will give you the easiest directions to install this...

I think, maybe I have a Q9c. Because I went to download skyfire, and it said "Download to your Motorola Q9c..." :/

On the phone, go to: Start<Settings<More<More<About

When you click the "About" button, it tells you which version of MS Windows Mobile you are running...

No. WM 5 can not be upgraded. It also means you have a "plain" Q, not Q9c...

I know you got Skyfire working, but you may want the proper TCPMP installed with the Flash Video Bundle. This way, if someone sends you a YouTube link, it can be opened directly from PIE or the e-mail...

Do you have a data plan? The easiest install is directly to the device. I am going to assume you have one, because Skyfire needs it, or will cost you a fortune. Follow these steps EXACTLY!!

    (1) Open internet explorer
    (2) Open browser address bar (in Internet Explorer, on the phone, click right soft key<menu<address bar)
    (3) type into address bar:

    http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/tcpmp.
    smartphone.0.72rc1.cab

    (Type it without spaces...)

Install this to either the phone or storage card.

    (4) Reboot phone (turn off and on again)

    (5) Back to address bar
    (6) Type into address bar:

    http://mq.roeiboot.com/apps/FlashVideoBundle.CAB

    (7) Reboot phone

    Hope this helps!

What do you have installed now? You need the flash video bundle from rudeboys app page (can be installed directly on phone as long as you have a data plan...) and you need the updated TCPMP 6.1 cab....

I saw the evdo icon at the top of my q9c the first day I got it. after that I haven't seen it again. is there a way to turn it back on? did I do something inadvertently ?is there a hack to boost signal strength ?

i would attempt one thing at a time
chances are you just dont have a strong signal where you are

and like i asked you in the skyfire thread ill ask again...who is your carrier?
