Tried using 2 different Plantronics bluetooth headsets...one with windscreen and $$, the other not...both sound terrible. First problem...it is hard to hear other people even with phone & bluetooth volume turned on high. Second problem...everyone claims I just don't sound clear.
Any suggestions? I drive for a living & it is extremely important that I can use bluetooth headset.

I use Bluetooth in my car and haven't had any problems. Do you have a friend or family member that has a Bluetooth headset you could try? If not, a trip to the AT&T store might be best. See if it's your Plantronics that's not playing nice or your phone.

Well, it does seem that Plantronics was not playing nice-nice with Samsung Focus. Paid a little more for a Samsung bluetooth headset & it does work much better. Not perfect...still having audio issues using headset & what's strange is that when I plug phone into jack from car hearing caller thru speakers of car...it is crystal clear. Go figure?

I've had the same sound quality problems with 4 different headsets including the Plantronics Voyager Pro+. I've also exchanged my phone and still have the problem. The Volume drops out randomly to the point where I can't hear the caller. I've recently gotten a Blue Ant Q2. So far that is working the best but I still have the volume drop out issue. This looks like a software issue of some sort. There are tons of posts in various forums about this with the Focus and other WP7 phones. It's also affecting the bluetooth connections in cars. Here are a couple of links.
