is there any way to fake Pocket IE to Desktop IE???
perhaps by messing with the browser user agent ?
lets say I wanna be able to visit this site and view it like on desktop pc thank people or things like that . has any one ever tried it ?
i believe that is done by changing the browser user agent.
just noticed smart tweaker had that option
but it shows this website as mobile
the only thing that i can think of that would work is to have a site that isnt mobile capable, or does not detect that you are on a mobile phone. My bank website, is the same one that i visit on my home PC. EQ automatically detects that your on a mobile phone, so it routes you to the mobile site. Maybe this is what rudeboy is talking about. i dint know what the browser user agent is.
gotta try to find that agent and beat him up just kidding lets try figure out some way to go arround that agent so it be recognized as mobile browser
If I'm getting what you mean right: view desktop pages on PIE? If thats what you mean theres already a registry hack for it here on EQ. I can't remember where but it involved changing your version tags and and altering one other value so as it wasn't idenrified as a smartphone. I used it for awhile but my data here in Billings MT was so slow that it made it unmanagable. It was cool to visit EQ fullon style on my Q though.
I would really appreciate if you could find it for me . tnx
Alright, found it. Goto the 5th page of the Motorola Q Hacks sticky in the Moto Q Hacks forum here on EQ. It'll be there posted by Pony99CA. I'd link it but I'm on my Q.
my post didn't do it for ya ? :}
rudeboy, we've had this conversaton time & again: genius is often overlooked or dismissed. Take comfort that you're not alone in your plight. =]
that is a relief.. it just boggles my mind that the answer/link is in the thread the entire time and nobody sees it.... *sigh* :}
I thanked u too so relax
it wasn't about the thanks (even though they are appriciated) it's about that i provide a most likely solution for the issue, and the thread goes on for 2 pages and then somebody comes up with the same answer as what i gave in post #2 :}
well thanks anyways bro.
Is there a hack to do the opposite? I'd rather view web pages as mobile ones on my Q. I hate scrolling everywhere to see the whole page.
Also, is there anyway to get images to appear without clicking the placeholder? That got kinda annoying in the Homescreen section
Sent from my Q
your phone should detect it if there is a mobile version of that web site.. what i did to prevent the endless scrolling is set it to "One Column".
I would apply the fake PIE hack -- but, i am afraid of some secure website saying it's ok to login securely (because of the hack) but in actuality, it's not secure -- I want to avoid that...
Is that a possible situation with this hack?
