What about EVDO in MO. for USCC? Any news?
no-go on Ev for Champaign, IL as of Feb 7. Kinda surprises me considering all the people from chicago that go to school here, would expect them to cater the cell service to them.
Was told that Southwest Virginia will be getting EVDO sometime in June 2009.
got it in rockford il. kinda nice!! and my wife thought she was cool because her delve was 3g and i was only 1x. wish i would have thought about the *228 thing long ago.
Per a friend of mine who is an Agent for US Cellular, mid May for Fairfield, Iowa.
im in ames, iowa right now for a collee visit. evdo is very nice and very fast. i was totall surprised to see the ev iconand i want to go here already.
Any word about the La Crosse, Wisconsin area?
I have an inside source that tells me the entire state of Iowa is supposed to go EVDO by late spring/early summer.
EV to be launched May 1 2009 for IOWA....it is going to be pushed from the nortel switch so no need to do *228... just FYI
Do you have info on any other areas, say....OKC?
sorry I do not have accurate info on markets outside iowa...
Ok. Thanks anyway.
link is broken.
Is CO included in the coverage area?
I think we roam on Verizon when in Colorado. My service was great, even on top of Ski Cooper, near Leadville.
I'm noticing EVDO showing up intermittantly, mostly in the very early morning in the Mishawaka, Indiana area (near South Bend). It has been up for a while over toward Elkhart, IN but that was because the towers there are new. Here, they are old towers that are being updated.
EV launched in IOWA this morning at 6am *228 to update PRL..EV launch date for Wisconsin (regional) June 1st 09
I just checked my phone today and noticed that knoxville, TN EVDO service is now live.
I am now showing EV on my phone just today. So I am assuming active now in Athens, TN.
I live in Michiana as well. I got excited when I saw the little EV icon pop up on my Q after returning home from a business trip a couple of weeks ago. Then it went away
I called and talked to a tech support guy who emailed the person responsible for launching EVDO in northern Indiana. The answer I got back was "scheduled to go live in August, but don't hold us to that". I've been getting the "it's coming soon" answer for over a year and just don't believe them anymore.
Here is a map of EVDO coverage for IA, IL, WI and what is to come..:laugh2:
