I've been to Pewaukee on business. Hit Milwaukee one night...had a good time at some of the small local bars.....

Never been to Oklahoma, or Iowa.....No EvDO here....Just Edge :)

Do tell me the difference..or explain what evdo is...i just assume its a network in the area?

I'm no expert, but here goes:

EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) is high-speed for mobile phones on the CDMA networks. Currently, if your cell phone uses CDMA your signal might be 1X. I fyou are in an area where your carrier has upgraded to the newer, faster technology you'll have the little EV icon. It is similar to AT&T 3G service.

EV-DO is 3g. just another name.
google EV-DO vs edge or EV-DO vs 3g.

thats what i did. their are some great sites out there that explain exactly what they are & the diff between them. just a good thin to know if you want to win an argument.

My original Q crashed on me yesterday so I upgraded to the new Q9C. My rep told me EVDO just launched in my area last week and sure enough when I fired up the phone, I have an EV icon on the top. I have not got to try it much but what I have done on the internet is way better. Seems to be a very good thing.

OOPPS...I am just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma

I visited some relatives in Tulsa this last weekend and was able to enjoy their EVDO service. Looking forward to it heading SW to OKC.

Why won't my Q connect to the EVDO network? I live in Des Moines and my sisters RZR is the only one in the family to be connected to it...

I am also in the Des Moines area. You have to use *228. My wife's razr picked it up right away for some reason, but I had to update the tower list before I could pick it up with my Q9c.

Booter is correct... *228 is required...

Also.. what kind of speeds are we seeing?

I've gone to dslreports.com and speed tested at around 620k in Des Moines and about 550k in Madison...

    anyone else?
