Hockey is alive and well in LI. Big news here is obviously John Tavares and the push to get a new building. If that doesn't happen, there is a good chance the Isles will relocate. Things looked pretty bad a few months ago, but things look good for the new building.

Picked up a few games this season. Isles will likely finish last in the division, but I'm ok with it if the young guys continue to develop.

Cannot wait for the home opener vs. Pittsburgh. Does it get any better than October? Hockey, baseball playoffs and football is in full swing.

Hint: They are playing a pre-season game in Kansas City.

Second hint: Kansas City has a brand new arena, but no professional sports franchise to play in said arena.

    KC Isles:angry:

I'm not a fan of October baseball (O's fan here so I have not vested interest LOL).

I will say this Chris, with the effort that Bettman is putting into Pheonix not losing their franchise I think you have a reason to feel some comfort that he wont allow NY to lose the Isles as well. If he does then you can come cheer for the best team in the NHL, Washington :dft011:tounge_out (WOAH new smileys). I'm looking forward to the start of the season. Also I'm going to play this fall me and my roomate just got all our gear and have been skating all summer :dft009:smile

Oh for a fun/not so fun read go here: (note he takes a jab at the Isles)http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_y...YF?slug=rm-nhlpower081209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

I like going to hockey games more than football. However, I love watching football. Probably because I enjoy fantasy football and watch 8 games at one time. Plenty of games to keep me occupied.

Normally I don't call it a "sport" unless it has cheerleaders. Hockey being the exception due to non stop intense level of play.

haha.. I was half way expecting the wimins to have missing teeth :p

Every game I have watched they play hard to the very end. score be damned! If they are loosing bad they just take out the other players (more than normal).
