    do u need outlook 4 activesync to work?

    do u need outlook 4 activesync to work? I just wanna put ringtones, apps, wallpapers, and themes on the phone I hate outlook and dont want to install it on my computer nor do I wanna use it

    You shouldn't need Outlook installed on your PC in order to do what you want to do, but you will require ActiveSync.

    i didnt think so I have activesync on my pc at work and the phone never connects to the program it just says conecting and then it gives me the trobleshooting screen but the only thing that comes up with that is I dont have outlook set as my default email. why wont it connect?

    Do you have a firewall running on your PC? If so, you will need to configure it to allow several ActiveSync programs (four of them) to run as trusted apps. The troubleshooter program should take you through how to do it. Which firewall do you have?
