Actually no need for the space bar, just start typing.
No "Message Sent" notification
did you know... Prosper edited a program that was found by n99hockey and you can now run a simple .cab file to prevent that message/screen.
download it here.
to see the thread, click here.
thanks Prosper & n99hockey.
ok folks, this is not a thread to start chats about issues... when you see something you think doesn't work or have other comments about it start a new thread and refer to the post you saw here.
Just type in the letter 'p' a pause will be inserted.
Rotate View of Docs in Picsel Viewer
I have a document viewer called Picsel Viewer 2006 on my Q. Version 1.1.2
I can view my Pdf, Xls and Doc files here.
When I hit 1 then 3 while viewing a document, it rotates the view of the document, in either of these three types.
I found it by mistake, as 1-3 is a speed dial for an app I use a lot.
Btw, did you know you could assign speed dial #'s for your favorite apps?
Highlight it in the Start Menu and click Menu softbutton, and Add Speed Dial.
Awesome, lovin' My Q!:w00t::thumbup:
Microsoft .NET Compact Framework version:
to find out the detailed version of Microsoft .NET Compact Framework you can simply run cgacutil.exe which is in your Windows directory.
(just learned this while testing & communicating with ANB Software regarding the Tabs in PIE)
Just realized this the other day. When in your messaging program (i.e. looking at your list of text messages), you can press the left/right d-pad buttons to switch accounts. Very useful if you have new messages in more than one place :laugh2:
Did you know...
If you were to try and send a text message to someone, and when entering the name you use NUMBERS it does not count against your message length of 160 characters, but if you use LETTERS, it will deduct the amount of characters to use in your message.
Also, a shortcut to get your CONTACTS list up, just hit the ENTER key when in the TO: field.
did you know by taking the battery out if the q it will sometimesstill stay on for up to a minute with no battery
That was the answer I was looking for!
holding down the message button turns off the display
(o and this isnt smart, but u can throw your phone on the ground and it wont break)
you can turn off the "say a command" by going to voice recognition-settings-sound-promts- you can also turn off that annoying beep in there. I forgot to lock my phon in a meeting and it went off all of the sudden! thank goodness it wasnt an important meeting but stil scarry. but thanks to the keylock application it will never happen again!!
That when composing or or replying to an email you can add a "Voice Note" from the insert option key. I was driving down the road the other day and was not willing to A)type a response while driving or B)pull over and type on. Found this little attachment very handy.
the letter p stands for pause..
Not so "rude", Rudeboy! Many thanks.
I was looking for a Menu button under the Call Options, like the directions above directed. Never thought that just adding the "pp" plus the password and # would just automatically be inserted in the number 1 speed call buttom -- but it most certainly did. Works great.
It is a terrific little benefit, especially when driving with an earpiece.
I guess this has taught me to experiment a little before I go and ask!
Thanks, again. Appreciate your response.
Window Media Volume Control
Did you know?
To control volume on your media player just roll your wheel up or down as required or press the down-up arrows on center button.
More so, you can add a shortcut to any URL stored your contacts. For example, I created a new contact called "Google Mobile", put in http://mobile.google.com and saved it, then I opened the contact and added it as speed dial #70.
This way, to get to google, I just hit 70. No need to open IE, then bookmarks, etc.
Exiting an application
Another quickie item...
Many applications don't have an "exit" option on the menu. However, if you press the hangup/disconnect/shutdown button some apps will actually exit instead of just switching back to the home screen.
Alas, you have to experiment with this... Not all apps actually exit. <sigh>
// On day six with my Q...
Did you know that the pipe | character is not on the Q?
I had to change my domain user account password the the server. :frown:
But now I find out http://www.qoolapps.com is a application that can add the character. Oh well password was 4 months old anyways.
Im sure this has been posted, but if your in text messages, and you press the left or right arrow, you can switch from sms to email, to mms
Separate names with a comma.
