Hang in there. From reports, it's starting to be released. These things are normally staggered. I wish they weren't, but at least we're moving in the right direction.

Is it going to pop up on our phone or Zune?

I don't know if you can force update. I just checked my Focus and no update. Plugged it in and checked for updates. Nothing, says my phone is up to date.

I think it would be faster if your device is plugged in. Well, not faster, but it CAN notify you faster..
Still nothing to update here at the moment :)

Hopefully by the end of the week... Hope future updates aren't like this.

Nothing here. Focus on AT&T , still on 7004. Checking dozens of times a day... so frustrating!

Nothing here with my LG Quantum on AT&T, figures...will this just be one update or do I have to get the "pre"update first?

All updates are cumulative so if you don't get one, it is rolled into the next one. Did anyone at AT&T ever get the first update?
I think we have to get used to the idea that this will be a very slow update process. Microsoft will be checking each stage very carefully. I don't know if anyone else follows the Windows Phone Support Tweet Fleet but the poor guys are just getting hammered today on the update process. I definitely admire their patience as I am sure they have no say in the matter.

Will it delete everything on my phone or will everything stay as I have it? how can I back it up 100% I know Zune only backs up certain things.

The update won't delete anything. The update is the only 'full backup' that Zune will do of your phone, creates a restore point, etc so you can take it back to the previous state if anything goes wrong. Will that save your text messages or phone logs? I doubt it.

There is no 'manual' backup procedure that you can do with your phone.

The impatience of people is highly amusing.

While everyone is majorly excited for this update, a slow initial roll out, to detect problems before they hit everyone is essential.

I always wait a while before updating anything, as every company has update issues at one time or another.

Impatient?? This update was first said to come in January...then February..then early March.
    Damn right we're impatient.

I understand the impatience b/c Microsoft doesn't release timelines for their updates. However, we are getting impatient mostly due to non-MS releases of dates, then expect MS to live up to them.
I am not thrilled with the process and hope MS not only improves it, but also puts out more incremental releases rather than twice-a-year big updates like they seem to be aiming for. If they updated copy/paste in January, then a speed increase in February, then some tweaks/fixes in March, I think they'd find people much more appreciative and willing to wait.
