Anybody tried this yet?
hmz... interesting, and no have not tried. you ?
i signed up to secure my handle/nickname :}
during sign up you have to select your phone... the silver Verizon Q had a yellow Sprint home screens :}
Same here. Could be interesting...
i'll keep ya posted, if you do the same..
I just saw this last night too and just watched the tour video.
Looks very interesting and might be a nice way to backup your contacts to somewhere else.
Does this constantly suck your battery though with communications between your phone and their server? Is there an option to only sync manually?
Not sure how they are making money either (which means maybe they suck you in and then charge later)?
still didn't hear from them... so no word on how it works exactly.
instead of sending all my numbers to some company that'll get 'hacked' and millions of numbers stolen why doesnt some make a backup program that emails it to a address you specify?
today i got this e-mail:
it's synchronizing with the phone as we speak.... this is kick ass, it's now getting my contacts.. it's takes a little while since it's the first time. (i guess)
it fetched the recent calls, and is now getting my sms history, bookmarks... sweet.
ok, i will stop the play by play....
i am sure you boys & girls are going to love this :}
quick pic of the Q in action:
for completeness a pic of Dashwire on my laptop:
Darn, where's my email!!
dunno.. but this is pretty awesome man. they also give you a personal page in case you want to share, mine is set to friends only for now.
(will say does not exist.)
I never got an email either.....
didn't you sign-up before me ? it comes from Dashwire - email@example.com, check your spam box..
AH! What do ya know...I had sent it to my gmail account. Am I going to need to
hook it up physically to my computer to sync?
edit: Weird! When I click on "Continue" it does nothing.
edit2: got it to work on Opera
I got my emal today as well.
I use active sync OWA to get mail pushed from the 1and1 exchange server. Will this use this connection and not allow me to use the exchange server, or does Dashwire have it's own wireless connection? I don't want it to change my active sync exchange settings.
you don't need a connection... it's wireless over the air.
aw i want my email!
how long ago did you guys sign up?
i signed up on 10-23..
