Can't find my personal contacts in my Q

Here is my issue. When I bought this few months back I had entered all my personal contacts into Q. Everything worked fine but recently when I try to access my personal contacts it only shows what I have setup in my outlook (somehow it synchronized with my outlook therefore only showing what I have in Outlook). Funny thing is all of contacts are still stored somewhere in my Q because if I get a call from my "old" personal contacts, it would show their name and other info. Or if I dial one of my "old" contact phone, it would automatically show their name and other info. This tells me that the info is stored somewhere in my Q but how/where can I retrieve it, that's a mystery to me so far.

It has been frustrating. Any help will be appreciated.

No, I don't think so. Never replaced/used sim in this Q.

oh ok thought maybe they could be hiding on a sim card

    im not really sure
technically if they arent in your contact menu you shouldnt be able to see the name and photo if they call you

try opening your contacts and checking the filter with the right soft key.

I noticed this once on my Q1. The contact in question was still in the call log even after I deleted the contact.

if you have a Q9 with 6.0 or 6.1 try installing myphone.microsoft run a back up and check online with a PC to see if your contacts are there.
    just a thought.

I am with VZW. I had to do a Master reset awhile ago because the phone was locked and wouldn't take my password. After that... some things were locked even after the master reset. the Pim.vol looks like it's locked. is there a way to delete that and then set up a new one? would that be a problem

yes you can replace the pim.vol file assuming you saved a copy of the previous version with your contacts, if not then its pointless

search for threads on it its been discussed 100's of times

move it to the Q somewhere and then use total commander to move it to the correct directory....

Thanks. I am combing through the pim.vol posts. Not as skilled in using things like total commander etc but I guess I will figure it out.
