No sliding panels, but I THINK all you can do is change the background picture. I could be wrong - I've just never seen anybody do something different.

I've never seen custom setups on BBs either, but there are sites that have custom theme collections with screens that have been changed a lot further than just the background. I'm thinking most people don't really toy with BBs as much.

about as much (slightly more even) as on a WinMo phone.. Plazmic makes WYSIWYG "theme builders" which make it possible to customize every detail from the icons, home screen, app screen, mail/call screens..

Oh wait, I take it back. I forgot about the G1 phone.

I held a fuze a few times to heck them out. It's actually not as wide as the Q but it is a bit thicker. The biggest complaint I think is gonna be the small keybaord.

I have a friend who is using an iPhone theme on her Blackberry.

So, yeah, you can customize it.

I have no clue why she'd want to use an iPhone theme but that's me.

My wife got the BB Strom a few days ago and after playing with it some, I wasn't that impressed. It has great video and the popular apps are nice, but I don't use my phone enough in that manner to make it a must have right now. I'll stick to the Q until I see something with a real WOW factor that fits the way I use the phone.
  17. wm standard is on the way out.
only pro devices will be developed.
I love my q, but its BB for me.
They are no frill devices. They are not fun devices, but then again, its still just a phone.
that being said, you can port the bb platform on wm devices.

curious (not sarcastic). why would you want to?

What does a BB platform (op system) offer that WM doesn't?
  19. push email for those that don't use exchange I guess.

This. And, before Google licensed the Active Sync from Microsoft, the over the air sync with Google Calendar and Contacts. Those were the big reasons that I wanted a Blackberry.

I was extremely excited when I saw that Google now offered over the air syncing to WinMo devices. I had it running within hours of the announcement.

    I LOVE GOOGLE!
