    Best 'Bond' ever?

Just saw a commercial for Quantum of Solace and they said that Daniel Craig (?) is the best Bond ever. I beg to differ, the best Bond IMHO is Sean Connery. I love that man even now, he does IT for me dammit!

he was good (Sean) but I grew up on Roger Moore. He played the spy/pimp quite well

I'm with THR on this...I would still pay to see Sean Connery in the role!

having watched all the bod films avidly as a kid, I have t go with Connery. Daniel Craig looks like too much of a thug to be a good Bond

If Harrison Ford can still play 'Indiana Jones' I think Sean Connery could still play 'James Bond' and I would be first in line!

I agree... Sean is better than the new guy. I saw Quantum of Solice, I liked the last one better.

At least Craig looks like someone capable of physically doing all the harrowing activities that come with being Bond.
And I think that the best Bond remark wasnt about his looks.. it was about his portrayal of a man who has a license to kill, has killed many people, has lost people close to him in a violent manner, cant afford to really have any real and truly intimate relations yet still saves the world. There really isnt room for glib remarks and snappy, corny one liners in that world.
Dont exactly see Jack Bauer tossing out one liners... unless you count "Dammit Chloe!!"

but then, in the real world the best spies are the ones you don't hear about. one of the original tag lines for bond was "he is the man other men want to be, and women want to be with"

    *drops myself* :tounge:

Serously tho I like Sean as Bond since he could play the suave dapper bond. However Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnon play the physical part extremly well.

AAARRRRGGGHHH I still have to see that new one!!!!!!!

I LOVE James Bond. I really enjoy the series and have always admired the timelessness of the character.

I always found that Sean Connery could play the role the best, but Pierce Brosnan had the best Bond look. The two newest ones, with Craig, have shifted to a more serious setting, and it works well with Craig's unsmiling rendition. And just so you know, Craig tries to do as many stunts as he can in his movies, so most of the stunts in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are actually him! That's why he wore an arm support band for a while.

I'm kinda partial to "we're running out of time!!!"
    My fav Bauer quotes..
"The only reason you're not unconscious is that I don't want to have to carry you.
"You're going to tell me what I want to know, the only question is how much it's going to hurt".
