Wow... it sounds like ATT already had the technology and they just busted it out at the right moment to compete with REV A technology (I think that's the latest, someone school me if im wrong). This will go quite well with all the new up and coming phones that we've seen leaked from ATT.

"Apple is expected to reveal the next iPhone soon, possibly at June's World Wide Developers Conference. A third-generation iPhone is expected to have increased storage capacity, and would likely be capable of accessing the faster 3G network."

I wonder if our current Q's would be able to access the "faster 3G network" or would it only be available to newer phones?

I read about this network upgrade a month ago and it seemed to imply that the speed upgrade will be accessible by current 3G enabled phones.
I'm still sceptical... speed tests done from my phone always averages around 450-550kbps..a far, far cry from the 1.5mbps we are supposed to be getting.
I knew that anything close to the rated 3.2mbps was 'on paper, lab specific', but 450kbps??? in a major market like NYC?? ... VERY disappointing.

    Yeah... it's a bit confusing.
Even if I only got a 500kbps boost I would be happy.

    On my Q9h:
I'm getting 163.10kps on ATT 3G network in Omaha, NE. using 2wire.com. Not nearly in th 400kps range as an earlier post noted. We were getting a constant 3G signal, but lately I've noticed the signal drops to Edge frequently. Guess I need to call ATT.
