    Assign SMS Tones for Free

i have not tried this yet but thought i would put it out there

OIST is a FREE app that allows you to assign SMS Tones for each contact

only downside appears to be that you need to have the sounds in .WAV format. but i suppose this could be worked with since its free

    enjoy

i saw that... it almost sounds like SMS Tones is either a part of OIST or a seperate piece of software, either case i can not find it :]

    ps. and i am not sure if it will play nice with XA or if they require the default contact list/format. (if that's true, well it's a no brainer what will leave and what will stay :}

    ditto
maybe they will get back to us soon

    also a good question
i read under the old software OIST not v1.1 that the numbers had to be in 1234567890 format not (123) 456-7890 which sucks

so we will see and i will keep asking questions and maybe they will update it more

I'm sure I tried this out before handing my money over to that well know other product! Can't remember if I couldn't get it working or just didn't like it though!

    - i just uploaded the SMS Tones cab file on my blog :)

i read under the old software OIST not v1.1 that the numbers had to be in 1234567890 format not (123) 456-7890 which sucks
    - i'll try to fix this. i haven't encountered this format before because in my country, i usually receive sms numbers in this format: +639221234567.

may i ask for anyone to try a beta version of OIST so that i can check on the number format of the sms when received? So that i can fix the numbers format problem. :)
    i'll post it here later.

i have tried using mp3s before as tones using ffmod dll but somehow it slows down the application or sometimes it doesn't play the tone. anyways i'll experiment on mp3 tones and will update as soon as possible :)

what do you mean rb? are you using any other application? may i ask which one? :)
    the application works like this:
when an sms arrives, it gets the number of the sender and searches in the contact list for the number specified. then it gets the content of the Pager Number detail and plays the tone based on that.
