Anyone hit up an AT&T store to pick up the Samsung Focus S today? Curious how you like it and how it compares to original Samsung Focus.
I have a 3gs.. Im gonna goto the ATT store and try on the focus s, Galaxy Rocketship, and the HTC Vivid, and then the iphone 4s.. Im hoping I stop at the Focus S.... it better be good.
I doubt they will have the iPhone 4S in stock. Curious to hear your thoughts on the Focus S and how it compares to the Focus.
I picked up the Focus S on Sunday. I am really enjoying it! The screen is amazing, Mango is awesome etc... Battery life... Not so much...
With my Focus (not S), battery life was really bad the first week , but greatly improved after a week. Perhaps you just need to condition the battery?
Is there still truth to that? I mean, I believe it. I always run by batteries down, regardless of the device.
I think so. My current Focus is the second I've purchased and both had terrible battery life the first week. Same with my wife's. So that's 3 different Focuses, 3 different batteries, that behave similarly. But with my Surround, I didn't have to go through a week of bad battery life. It was normal from the get go.... so I'm not sure what's going on with Samsung phones.
I hope so, I turned off some things that should help with battery life and it has been better today. This is my first WP so I am curious if you guys have had to dial back some "battery draining" services on your devices? I'm about halfway through the day and I am at 51%. My previous device I was easily around 80% right now (granted it was an iPhone 4) so I am a little puzzled.
I don't do anything special to save on battery. I have plenty of Live tiles, FB chat turned, Wifi always on, email set to "as items arrive". Battery will last a full day, typically 12-14 hrs before I get a notification to charge. However, if it's a Sunday and my laptop is occupied, I will use my phone to constantly surf, FB, Twitter and Fantasy Football. I can get a good 4 hours out of it. Pretty good, considering I can only get 2 hrs of battery off my laptop.
Well, went to the ATT store and I loved the focus s.... Also loved the Rocketship as well.. but I am going to go with the Focus S. I am going to wait for a deal on one though. I am not paying $199 for the phone. I am sure it will be down to $99 soon.
nice... question.. I am grandfathered into the unlimited data on my att account.. If I order through Amazon, will ATT screw me over?
What I did was ordered it through Amazon, then called ATT to activate the phone. At that time, I told the rep to grandfather me in.
well, i clicked on family plan upgrade and it jumped to $249... ugh.. so its actually cheaper to goto the att store and get it for $199 guess waiting for the HTC Titan before I snag this phone is good... as maybe I can get it for $99 by then
DOH!!! Well if you're willing to wait, Amazon seems to actually drop their prices down to a penny after a couple months. But that may not apply to family plans either, like you've just discovered.
I just wanted to check back in, the battery life has greatly improved. Celluar data and/or automatic Xbox Live connection seemed to affect the batter life quite a bit. If I turn of data while on WiFi my battery seems to be much better. I'm sure battery conditioning also played a role. Thanks for the advice guys.
