Alert! Verizon requiring data plans on Dumb phones

Just a heads up that Verizon is now requiring at least a $9.99 data plan (25MB) on most non smartphones. If you have dumb phones on your account and change things on your account, be prepared for a jump in monthly bills.

Interestingly, the $29.99 plan says "Unlimited" data usage allowance. Some non smartphones use this plan too.

    This is dumb

Does that make any sense? DUMB phones with SMARTphone plans? Anywhoo, If they are gonna charge more for something that seems unnecessary, shouldn't we get something in return?:dft008:whoa

As much as I like them I am finished with the Q. I had a pay-as-you-use data plan at Verizon. I switch back-and-forth between phones and when I tried to activate a Q the last time I had to choose a data plan, no more pay-as-you-use. So therefore, I will no longer activate the Q. Thinking about another carrier, but I'm like others, don't know anyone that would be better.

Verizon will still activate Q's with pay as you go data. I just activated a q9n and q9c. The second one I did have to call them though. It automatically put the 29.99 data plan, just called and told them I never plan on using the internet or email so they switched it to pay as you go.
