Adding Cities To The Weather Tab In TF3D!

Alright so here are step-by-step directions on how to add a city into the weather tab for those of you who don't live/work in big cities.

    1) Download & Install .NET Compact Framework 3.5 (if you haven't done so already
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2415836

    2) Download & Install WeatherDatabaseEditor
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=120461&d=1223638121

    3) Find your location code on http://www.accuweather.com. Your code is part of the URL. In the url you will see us/(state)/(city)...Example: us/wa/lake-stevens

    4) Go to the WeatherDatabaseEditor, Select United States, Select Edit > Add City. Under location code this is how it should look (*Note, you MUST prefix this with NAM|): NAM|US|WA|LAKE STEVENS

    5) Exit WDE and go to the weather tab. Select add city. Your city should be listed in alphabetical order but may be at the bottom of the list. Add it.

You may initially see the correct temperature but the wrong picture and underneath it may say IDS_STATE_0 (or some variant of this). Double check your settings in WDE. If everything is ok go back to the weather tab. Hit update now and it should correct itself.

All credits for this method go to N2A, Garfield1970, idsk and andreas.falke at the XDA Developers forum.

I know this is a pretty old thread but when trying this on my HTC Touch Pro after I've installed the WDE whenever I scroll to the Weather Panel the Home Page resets.

When I uninstall WDE it then lets me back to the Weather Panel but my new city isn't their.

    Any thoughts?

Cool, I have 'flashed' my phone using the 'Juicy' ROM, not sure it that makes any difference.

I've also not been able to install ,NET 3.5, just gives me an error!

I just got a diamond for myself after playing with the old ladies. Tried to do this little hack. Got the city setup, but it won't read the right data. i.e. the temp and high read 32 when it's really 79. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to change the weather on NRG’s ROMS is Weather Master. NRG is running the new manila from the Touch Pro II. So this way will not work. You need the 2.2 version for the Rhodium. Word of warning, running this will lock your weather database.
