    ActiveSync vs. Wireless Sinc

I have already downloaded ActiveSync to my computer and I have been using it to transfer contacts, music, etc. What is the difference between ActiveSync and Wireless Sinc? Why do I need it?

ActiveSync synchronizes locally with your PC, using either a USB cable or Bluetooth. It will also synch over the air if your email is on a Microsoft Exchange server that supports this feature.

Wireless Synch synchronizes over the air without going to your email server, using a redirector program running on your PC back at the office. It makes you independent of your IT department, but if your PC crashes you are out of luck until you can reboot it.
