    Access Denied when editing registry

I can edit some values but others like changing the max ie connections or relocating ie cache to my storage card give me an access denied error. Have they protected things on the Q 9m that were accessible on the previous Q?

There's a program you need to run on the Q9m old Q as well which disables the security or "unlocks" the registry. I think is called AEConfig or something. I read this on the first page of the MOTO Q Hacks thread in the HACKS sticky post. It works the same on both. Works on mine anyway.

MRE Note: If you receive an "access denied" error when making changes to the registry, try AEConfig to unlock your Q. Make sure to follow the instructions! You do not need Q-specific instructions.

    Thanks coop5571! That's just what I needed.

Someday I'll learn to read the stickies.

Where can I download AEConfig? I've searched all over and finally found one site that has a link but it is bad. I tried EnableRAPI but it did nothing. :-(

Yeah that's the same page I found with google that had the bad link. Didn't realize it was underlined in the post above though.

Anyone have a good link for AEConfig.exe, or would mind just emailing it to autoxdriver@gmail.com?

    Hey,

If i simply unlock my Sprint Moto Q, what's the worst that can happen? Or does it take me doing something AFTER it's unlocked that is the issue...can it be re-locked?

    Thanks,

    Matt!
