I'm not sure the Q9c supports an 8GB card. I think it's only up to 2GB compatible. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

it should be able to handle it just fine, depending on when it was made it may need the sdhc driver

The Q9c should have no problem, the manual lists it as supporting SDHC (up to 32GB)

It's supposed to support up a to 32 gb mini sdhc card, even though that hasn't been invented yet. I'm using a class 6, 4 gb mini sdhc and its doing fine.

this is a class 4 8gb micro sdhc card. i assure you it does not work. it works fine as a storage device using a usb reader, but does not work in the phone at all. locks it up actually. tried the sdhc.cab driver. does not work either. i'm at a loss.

sandisk is somewhat of a leader in memory cards and what not. would be a shame if that was true. anyone have luck with an 8gb card on the 9c?

Have you tried formating it? Sometimes memory makers put some autorun crap on their flash memory. Lexar is the biggest culprit but it's worth checking out.

Have you got another mini sd/sdhc card you can test the q9c with? It could be a bad q, incompatable memory. Did you use the adaptor when you tested it with your computer? If not it could be a bad adaptor as well.

You could also try running memtest (google it) and checking the memory for faults.

the OP said the card read fine in a reader..that eliminates faulty memory card + adapter(hopefully)

will the card read in a differnt device such as a digi camera?

I have the same setup on the way, but I purchased the topcon adapter as I read an earlier post where someone used this exact setup. I'll keep you posted.

IF you would PM me, we could talk instead of throwing this out in a thread forever. I have had ZERO problems with my setup from the links to the products I bought a few weeks ago.

Works fine in my phone and attached to my computer. Only thing I could think is that you either got a bad card or bad adapter. Have you tried running the SD format from the Q9? I did that as soon as I got it...

That's so weird, have you tried formating it using the q9c's format utility? If that doesn't work I have no more ideas.

at some point you may consider returning it as mentioned before. Good brand name, but they still make them as cheap and fast as possible.
