Thanks. I just ordered one also. Hope I have as good a result as others are reporting.:tounge:
Steve and the facts on the 4 gb card
[thanks for the clarification) I see you're a factual kinda guy:wink:
I ordered the 4gb mini sd from the website you listed and not from the ebay links. should be fine. I was wondering if anyone was using anything larger than a 4 gb card with success on the q. but so far it seems that the 4gb is the most any one here has tried with success
8 GB Cards
I don't know if there are any larger cards for the Q. I've read that Samsung announced an 8 GB MicroSD card, but I believe that's a High Capacity (HC) card and HC cards don't work in the Q.
That's one reason I hope that the newer Qs (Q9h, Q9M, etc.) will support SDHC.
It doesn't matter if you don't provide a link. There are many eBay vendors selling 4 GB MiniSD cards, but only some of them work. Without a link, you're forcing people to guess which vendor you used.
If it's one of the vendors mentioned previously, at least say which one.
MemorySuppliers.com great deal!
I just ordered a 4 gb mini sd for my Q and got an email offering me $10 back on my cc card. Now that is a nice surprise! i have a 1gb card i got from them with a lifetime guarantee on the card and i've had it for a while and never had any trouble at all.
MemorySuppliers.com though the card was $59.00 with no tax and free shipping i got for $49 with the $10 off my order.
I bought from them because of the lifetime card guarantee. I have wasted serious cash on bad cards before. PS the card works great on the Q.
awithout reading all of the threads...
will this work on my MQ? (i am a totally new Q user)
4GB 4 G MiniSD Memory Card Verizon Motorola Q Optimized
oh. what does the "Optimized" mean in regards to this?
People have been having good luck with the 4gb card this guy sells. I am right now in the process of of loading 3.5gb of Music onto my phone. I just got the card delivered this morning. I haven't heard any complaints about the 4gb card he sells. Here's a link.
A lot opf other guys are selling 4gb cards that don't work on the Q.:2cool:
So given all of this dialogue- what's the deal?
I don't have an SD card reader in my computer or an attachment. I'd like a 4GB card, but it sounds like I'd need to format/ reformat any of the cards mentioned- someone please correct if I am mistaken. Moving on...
If I don't have a reader or a way to format a card, is there a 4GB card that I can purchase which will offer plug and play functionality? If so, please paste a link so that I can make this easy for myself.
The card in the post above yours plugged and played for me, however I would suggest buying a card reader as it's alot faster if you're going to put any significant music of files on it. Real slow with activesync and only $10 or so for a card reader. Don't know how you can live w/o one.
I just spent about 5 hours putting 3.5 gb of music on my new 4gb phone with ActiveSync. There's got to be a better way. Perhaps with a card reader.
It does work great though....not one problem.
I puchased a 4 gb card from sellbuzz on e-bay (New 4GB miniSD Card for PPC 6700 + moto Q + MDA + P3600) i have two movies and 1.5gb of music totaling 3.2gb. The card works awesome! Buy safe!

Definitely a card reader is the way to go for large data transfers.
active sync stinks
dude get a scan disc card reader, active sync is a HUGE waste of time
Optimized Memory Cards
Read the thread. :laugh2:
I assume you mean a "SanDisk" card reader, but any card reader should work. I recommend getting a USB 2.0 one for faster transfers, though.
LOL SOUNDS LIKE A IBM XTSL 8mhz turbo went to 10mhz tho which was my first pc well except for maybe the comodore but it didn't have a harddrive.
Anyone using any MicroSD cards? I'm thinking of buying MicroSD to kind of future proof mine.
huh... the Q uses mini SD, not micro SD..
Yes, but mine came with a microSD in a miniSD adapter and the q9h is going to use microSD which says the next generation Q might go to microSD as well. Plus my wife's phone uses MicroSD so I'm thinking of doing the same as verizon did and get a mini to micro adapter and use micro.
aha... i see said the blind man.
Separate names with a comma.
