It's interesting to me about this whole WM6 business, I've been perfectly content with my Q the entire time I have owned it (about 3 months now). right now I would only like an upgrade as an added bonus to an already great phone. By the time my contract expires, though.. I am willing to bet that there will be few new apps being written and updated to support WM5. Two years is a long time for any system.
I certainly wouldn't expect Sprint to do the upgrade given their history of device support, especially if there's any complication to it. I also think it's curious (reading back through this post) that there are several people who saw/heard from Sprint tech that the upgrade had been tested then abandoned... it seems like there must have been some issue during testing, perhaps? Something either they couldn't get to work properly, or decided was too cost-prohibitive (or time) to continue working on?
I'm sure they'd rather sell new phones, but in the case of lower-budget folks such as myself (my Q was a major purchase based on my income) I will stick with the current phone, upgrade or no. When it comes time for my contract to expire, upgrade and device support will move up on my list of things to judge a carrier by. Nextel (pre-Sprint) proved to me (and said so, in just as many words) that retention isn't a priority, it's all about new contracts.

I'm with Miro, I'm content with my device and it's O/S but maybe that's why they say ignorance is bliss. I really don't know what I'm missing so it's not that big a deal to me. The only thing on my Q I constantly want to change/upgrade is the Home Screen but I'll get around to changin' it sometime.
My Q and I have a love/hate relationship goin' on...
If I had a Pocket PC, I'd be more concerned about an O/S upgrade not being available. IMO, a smartphone is less OS reliant for it's initial purpose. As I've stated in the past, the upgrade would be nice to have, but not having it available won't change my opinion of the Q. I'm fortunate enough to have one that works fine on a daily basis, without any interruptions in service.

The Q is a new phone from Sprint.
Its not like its an old model or something.
WM5 has been out since time began and has sucked ass for nearly as long!
I got the Q a few months ago as WM6 was being anounced and was told there would be updates for WM6.
If the Q was even 6 or nine months old I could see making us buy another phone for wm6 but I just got this thing now I want to shove it up their ass!B S
They could have kissed me first!
