    Another Screen Capture Program

    There's also SmartSS (which is free) or SmartSS+ if you want to pay for a better program.

    Also, the Q comes with a built-in screen capture program -- \Windows\PrtScrn.exe. Copy it and paste a shortcut into your Start menu. When you launch the program, you have a short time to move to the screen you want captured. After that, you'll see a message saying that the screen was captured. The file will be located in \My Documents\ScreenShot1.png. From what I've seen, that's the only file name generated, so capturing a second image will erase the first unless you've renamed or moved it.

    If you are looking to take a screen shot of your home screen, there is a way to get the built in print screen function to do it for free.

    Use file manager (with the options to hide hidden files disabled) to view the windows folder and look for prtscrn.exe

    Copy it, and go to the start menu folder (which is also in the windows folder) and paste a shortcut there.

    Now go back to the homescreen and click start, and run the prtscrn app and hit the home key real quick you'll have a screenshot of your homescreen sitting in your 'my documents' folder. It seems to have a second or two delay.

    More friendly than the free prtscrn.exe, sure, but it still requires a download and install.

    And I'm not sure that it's any more friendly than SmartSS.

    well it's about the same i believe with the difference that SmartSS+ put a "Unreg'd" line on the screen-grab which i don't care for, i understand why they do that but still, i don't have to like it :}

    plus, back to point 1 SmartSS+ also requires a d/l & install.

    Actually, I meant SmartSS (MagicSS is the Pocket PC version). I don't recall SmartSS putting anything on the screen capture; could you have been using SmartSS Plus?

    Also, I just tried SmartSS on my MOL 3 Q and it doesn't seem to work (I even disabled Vito CopyPaste). I wonder if the iTap DLL problem introduced in MOL 2 messed it up. Maybe I will have to switch to Ilium's Screen Capture.
